“Nîpîy Iskôtêw – Water Fire” was designed by Peatr Thomas, Ininew (Swampy Cree) and Anishinabe (Ojibwe) artist and reflects the Bison teachings through its layered design and symbolic elements.

UM’s Office of the Vice-President (Indigenous) partnered with the Strategic Marketing and Communications unit to commission and champion three new bison designs by Peatr Thomas, Jordan Stranger and Shaun Vincent, expanding UM’s iconic bison herd.

Five dollars ($5) from each sale goes to the Indigenous Student Success Fund to support Indigenous student programming.
